Why We Built This Site
Idaho uses a unified trial court system, and Kootenai County is part of the First Judicial District. The practical record path can still be confusing. Case searches start with Idaho iCourt, court document requests go to the District Court Records Department, recorded documents and marriage licenses run through the Recorder's Office, and jail or warrant records belong with the Sheriff's Office.
The goal is to put those Kootenai County routes in one plain reference. The county's court campus is also split across the Justice Building, Old Courthouse, Public Safety Building, and Juvenile Justice Building, so location details matter as much as search links.

This is a privately run reference site. It has no connection to any Idaho court, Kootenai County office, sheriff's office, federal court, or state agency. There are real limits to what a private reference site can provide:
- We cannot file paperwork or send records requests for visitors
- We cannot issue certified copies of court documents, marriage records, or vital records
- We cannot give legal advice or interpret a specific Kootenai County case
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, office hour, or address is current at the moment of use
Only the issuing court, clerk, recorder, sheriff, or state agency can provide an official certified record.
